Abel Metallsysteme, the specialist for balustrade systems and fall protection devices in front of floor-to-ceiling windows, has added another technical competence. In order to react to customer wishes even faster and more flexibly, the company has invested in a new production building for powder coating.
After a construction period of one and a half years, Abel opened its in-house powder coating facility in June 2019.
On the central industrial estate, in the Thuringian town of Geisa, a new production building has been under construction since the end of 2017, with 5-zone washing lines, adhesive water dryer, curing oven and a powder coating booth, on an area covering 1,900 m². The powder coating facility features an osmosis plant and an evaporator, which supplies the facility with recycled water. In addition, a
process supply and exhaust air unit was installed for heat recovery purposes. In conjunction with the 18,000-litre buffer storage tank, the energy is therefore used in the best possible way. In this facility, Abel Metallsysteme manages to coat components with a length of up to 6 metres and a width of 2.50 metres.
It is no longer to imagine modern architecture without system solutions powder coated with colours. The benefits of the coating process are decorative looks, protection of surfaces from corrosion, long service life and an almost unlimited variety of colours. Abel can thus offer the customer even more service and shorter delivery times.
All steel and aluminium systems are suitable for coating. Powder coating is possible both according to the standard RAL table and with special colours. The gloss level and surface texture can be freely selected. Duplex coating can also be done, which replaces the galvanization of steel.
With this mainstay, the company once more provides evidence of its future sustainability and creates new jobs in its home region once again.
