With the VISIOPLAN all-glass balustrade, the company Abel Metallsysteme offers a technically perfect solution in a great design, which combined in a modular manner, meets different building requirements. Base profiles for VISIOPLAN all-glass balustrades

For the Visionplan glass balustrade we offer you five different base profiles with numerous add-on parts. All profiles can be installed flush on the inside or also outside with adapted connection profiles. It is also still possible to align the glass pane during installation. The glass panes are completely installed from the inside.

The base profile for the laminated safety glass (LSG) is made of high-quality aluminium. The surface is anodised. Glass heights up to 1.3 metres are possible with VISIOPLAN. The applications of our glass balustrade range from the residential sector, the commercial sector through to the public sector, because: depending on the application, a glass balustrade has to withstand a top rail load between 0.5 kN and 1.0 kN per metre. Our base profiles meet the respective requirements.

ADJUST GLASS ASSEMBLY SYSTEM

The ADJUST glass assembly system makes it quick and easy to align the LSG panes during the installation. Adjusting the slider on the ADJUST glass assembly system causes a wedge-like movement of the glass mounting. If the slider is on the right-hand side, the LSG pane on the handrail adjusts itself away from the building structure. In contrast; when the slider is on the left-hand side, the LSG pane adjusts itself towards the building structure. Applicable for 17.52 mm and 21.52 mm LSG panes.

A uniform and elegant façade, in a modern and transparent design, by combining the VISIOPLAN and VITRUM SINE glass systems. The VITRUM SINE glass fall protection has a general building authority test certificate, a system structural analysis according to DIN 18008 and is fastened directly on the window profile. The glass clamping system can also be used in combination with roller shutter guide rails and venetian blinds.

Frequently asked questions about all-glass balustrades:

Balustrades are necessary wherever walkable areas are adjacent to a fall height of at least 50-100 cm.

The requirements for the height of the balustrades are governed in the relevant regional building regulations.

The following regulations can be uniformly summarised:

The Federal State Building Order specifies a balustrade height of 90 cm for a possible fall height of up to 12 metres. In case of a fall height of over 12 metres, the balustrade must be at least 110 cm high. There are stricter regulations for small children: DIN 18065 specifies a height of 70 cm as the minimum balustrade height to secure a balustrade from being climbed over.

The following basically applies for all-glass balustrades:

  • Private sector: 0.5kN = LSG made of 2x TSG 17.52mm (8/4/8) edges on all sides polished and smoothed (KPO)
  • Public sector: 1.0kN = LSG made of 2x TSG 21.52mm (10/4/10) edges on all sides polished and smoothed (KPO)

Furthermore, when determining the glass thickness, the respective installation situation must always be taken into account too.

An all-glass balustrade can be installed on all substrates, as long as static proof of the connection is possible. These verifications or structural analyses must be carried out individually for each project and each substrate. We are happy to advise you about your respective construction project.

Reinforced concrete of grade C25 upwards is particularly recommended as a substrate for the installation of an all-glass balustrade.

The all-glass balustrades by Abel Metallsysteme are suitable for top and side installation. In addition, there is also the option of fastening the glass balustrade with the aid of assembly stands. For this purpose you will find the various brackets in the VISIOPLAN 50 all-glass balustrade category.

According to DIN 18008-4, if a pane fails the load transfer must be guaranteed by an adjacent glass panel: that is why a handrail is essential.

With Abel Metallsysteme you can choose between a discreet glass cover strip, a grooved tube or a wooden handrail.

A group E DIN 18545-2 sealing compound/film-compatible silicone is applied to the edge of the glass. The handrail rubber is notched in several places and then applied to the adhesive surface. Finally the glass cover strip is placed on top.

The length expansion of the all-glass balustrade profile is absorbed and compensated by a joint plate.

Our ADJUST glass assembly system makes it quick and easy to align the LSG panes during the installation of the all-glass balustrade. The VISIOPLAN 40 all-glass balustrade system is particularly suitable for staircases. For these all-glass balustrades there are end caps made specially for inclines.

Suitable for installation, all fastening elements with buildings regulation approval depending on the substrate. We recommend the bolt anchors and high-performance anchors produced by Fischer Deutschland Vertriebs GmbH for installing our all-glass balustrades.
